More than 20 children with disabilities presented a folkloric show in Arnous Square in Damascus, which included a variety of national and heritage songs.
Children’s families, representatives of a number of NGOs and visitors to the square interacted with the show organized by the “Judy” Association on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which is celebrated on the 3rd of December, through activities for children that include dance panels, lyrical performances, and others.
In a press statement, the director of the association, Sabah El-Sakka, indicated that the celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities is an opportunity to show the talents and capabilities of these children and to present a message of the need to care and support them in various fields to facilitate their effective integration into society, while Dr. Quality services for this category and prioritizing their needs to support their capabilities.
During his participation in the event, artist Mustafa Al-Khani stressed the importance of supporting community initiatives and events that help integrate persons with disabilities into society, considering that this is a duty to enhance the skills of this category and its participation in society.
It is noteworthy that the Judy Association was established in Damascus in 2006 and works to provide psychological and medical services to persons with disabilities of different ages and has launched a number of development projects to support them, including the project “A vision for teaching people with hearing disabilities” the skills of photography, photoshop and montage.
