The Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Abdullah Bouhabib, discussed today with the Secretary-General of the Syrian-Lebanese Supreme Council Nasri Khoury the bilateral relations between Lebanon and Syria in several fields.
The Lebanese President, General Michel Aoun, recently discussed with Khoury the work of the Council's General Secretariat, especially ways to activate relations with Syria in all fields.
In the same context, the head of the Popular Movement, Lebanese MP Mustafa Hussein, drew earlier today the importance of coordination and cooperation between Lebanon and Syria for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples, especially in light of the current circumstances.
In a joint statement following their meeting today, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Lebanese Arab Struggle Movement, Tariq Al-Daoud, and the Executor of the West Bekaa in the Syrian Social Nationalist Party, Nour Ghazi, stressed the need to strengthen the relationship with Syria as a Lebanese national interest.
The two sides pointed out that Syria is the natural and vital geographical extension of Lebanon, and there is an interest in the return of normal relations between the two countries, stressing that resisting the occupation is a sacred right of the peoples who occupy their lands.
