The smartphone has it all: proof of vaccination, test and recovery.

But what happens on the train when the cell phone runs out of power?

Can I continue driving?

Regensburg - Everyone has probably asked themselves this question before: What happens when the cell phone battery is empty and exactly then you should show the vaccination certificate?

Since most people arguably carry it around in an app rather than in physical form, the question is fair.

Regensburg: Deutsche Bahn is kicking out passengers who do not have a 3G certificate with them

It gets bitter in the Deutsche Bahn *.

“We check point-by-point.

If a passenger cannot provide 3G proof, he or she has to leave the vehicle at the next opportunity, ”clarifies a spokesman for Deutsche Bahn.

So far this has rarely happened.

According to a press release from the company, only 200 out of 150,000 people had to leave the train after the sample so far because they could not show 3G proof.

The Länderbahn, which is known in Regensburg * as the "Alex" train, regulates this in a similar way.

"If a passenger is unable to show a 3G proof - for whatever reason - during a check, the control or security staff will ask them to get off at the next stop," says spokeswoman Sylvia Hubmann-Gradl.

“A possible violation of the 3G rule is an administrative offense.

The authorities can impose a fine here, ”she explains to the

Regensburg: battery empty - what now?

The guest can only continue the journey by train once the proof is available. She recommends "to have a replacement document such as a vaccination certificate with you". Alternatively, a charger can also help. But it can happen here that the train does not have any sockets, for example in the "Alex" trains or on the RE 50 (Nuremberg-Regensburg-Munich). So far, however, there is no known case in which someone had an empty battery during the check.

The Regensburger Verkehrsverbund (RVV), on the other hand, is a bit more accommodating.

Should someone not be able to show their 3G certificate because the cell phone is empty, “the security forces will decide how to proceed”.

This is confirmed by the managing director Kai Müller-Eberstein.

You can also submit the evidence “in a certain time window afterwards to the relevant body”.

Then the fine would normally be withdrawn.

Regensburg: Immune card as a possibility

And if you don't want to rely on your mobile phone, you can buy an “immune card” in many Regensburg pharmacies.

It is the size of a credit card and contains all of the vaccination information.

The card can be read anywhere.
