Members of the UN Security Council, France, Germany and the United Kingdom, issued a special statement this evening (Tuesday) regarding the stalemate in negotiations with the Iranians in Vienna.
In a statement, the powers referred to what they defined as a "serious issue."
The statement said that for two years Iran has been taking unexpected steps and has recently even escalated its actions in the most sensitive violations of the common understandings regarding the nuclear program.
It was further noted that Iran has reduced the oversight of the International Atomic Energy Agency and left the international community with less information on the status of its nuclear program.
The statement said Iran's nuclear program has never been more advanced than it is today.
It was further emphasized that these actions undermine international peace and security, and the international community.
France, Germany and the United Kingdom have stated that they remain committed to the full implementation of the nuclear agreement.
"We are working with all partners in Vienna to reach a deal that will preserve the nuclear agreement and renew it," it said.
The powers have made it clear that Iran is back in it after long weeks of challenging negotiations, while at the same time presenting maximalist demands.
"We are approaching a point where the rapid progress of the Iranian nuclear program will completely empty the nuclear deal of its content," the statement stressed.
However, the powers have made it clear that "the door is still open" diplomatically for Iran to reach a deal now, and that it must choose between a nuclear deal crash and a deal in favor of the Iranian people.
The superpowers warned that the continuation of the current situation would lead to the end of the road.
