Landsberg - HC Landsberg seems to have got back on track in the Oberliga Süd.

On Friday, the team of coach Fabio Carciola won 5: 3 (2: 1; 2: 1; 1: 1) against the favored cracks from Deggendorfer SC.

Unfortunately, the momentum wasn't enough for two games, because on Sunday the away game at the Höchstadt Alligators was lost 3: 4 (1: 0; 1; 3; 1: 1).

The Lechstädter occupy the 11th place in the table and stay within striking distance of the teams from Lindau and Passau placed in front of them.

Almost 300 spectators saw a particularly good performance against Deggendorf, not only in the first third. The guests' coach analyzed aptly: “My boys have to learn that a game lasts 60 minutes and that they have to be present from the start. Landsberg fought for the entire season and gave everything. ”And the home side had the luck of the able on their side that evening. A not particularly sharp shot by Lilik was deflected by Wedl (6th) and made it 1-0. The equalization by Greilinger (8th) only shocked the HCL briefly. And 50 seconds before the end of the first period, Adriano Carciola completed perhaps the most beautiful move of the game, over Nedved and Nättinen, to a deserved 2-1 lead.

Even after the first break, Deggendorf had problems with the brisk performance of the Riverkings, who attacked early and did not allow the guests to develop. Rypar (31st) and Krammer (32nd) made it 4-1 with a double strike. The disc rushed through the legs of the not always sure-looking guest goalie Pielmeier. Miculka (36th) was able to shorten it to 4: 2 and the last third promised to be exciting.

All too often in the recent past the Riverkings have given away a lead in the third leg of the game.

When Greilinger scored a 4: 3 goal just 30 seconds after the restart, the game seemed to tip over.

But thanks to a disciplined defense and some strong saves from HCL keeper Jonas Stettmer, the feared equalization did not fall.

On the contrary: When the guests had sacrificed their goalie for another field player, Dennis Neal scored ten seconds before the end to redeeming 5: 3 in the empty opposing goal.

Understandably, the cheers among fans and players were great.

"Today everything was just right," said HCL coach Carciola, summarizing the game.

Snappy alligators

On Sunday it went to the Höchstadt Alligators, who are currently on a small run and have advanced to 7th place in the table with 27 points. Landsberg came with a small squad: Güßbacher, Strodel (injured), Jänichen (private reasons), Gäbelein (caught a cold) and Feigl (in action for Ingolstadt) could not appear. A circumstance that should still be punished, as coach Carciola frankly admitted: “In the end, we didn't have the strength because of the many penalties; the boys were exhausted. The victory for Höchstadt is okay. "

It had only been eight seconds, but at first the target was in the home side's goal.

Adriano Carciola took advantage of a stick error by EC defender Seewald mercilessly and scored with a lightning goal to make it 1-0 for the Riverkings.

The leadership lasted until the first tea break and could even have been expanded by Mitchell and Carciola.

In the second third, the HCL found the right answer to the 1: 1 by Neugebauer (22nd), because the very agile and prudent Patrik Rypar scored 2: 1 for the Riverkings after preparatory work by Nättinen.

Then the guests lost their strength and concentration.

The penalty times of the Riverkings increased and the Canadian Jakob Fardoe (35.) scored in the majority to equalize 2-2.

Just two minutes later, the game was over: Kryvorutskyy scored 3-2 for the alligators.

When Mitchell was in the penalty box for the HCL, Neugebauer increased (47th) to 4: 2.

Rypar scored again (48th) and made it 4: 3, but the Riverkings were no longer able to perform any further heroic deeds.

The HCL missed its few opportunities.

Goalie Jonas Stettmer prevented the home side from further goals and once again proved his great talent.

An achievement that also elicited compliments from EC team manager Daniel Tratz: "Landsberg has a great goalkeeper who is a real support for the defense."

Derby in Landsberg

The Riverkings should remember this weekend's victory and use it as a yardstick.

After all, Deggendorf overthrew the Blue Devils Weiden on Sunday with a 4-2 win from the top of the Oberliga Süd table.

On Friday (8 p.m.) the EC Peiting will be a guest in the Hungerbachdome.

A team that has lost its last four games.

The game in Memmingen is on the program on Sunday (6 p.m.).
