According to the Regensburg City Youth Council, the current Corona rules for young people are not justified.

A fire letter to Söder should help.

Regensburg - The current Corona * rules for young people between the ages of twelve and seventeen are angry with the Stadtjugendring Regensburg *.

Unvaccinated adolescents are allowed to visit restaurants, but are not allowed to enter the youth center.

The chairman of the Stadtjugendring, Philipp Seitz, becomes clear: “Youth work under 2G conditions robs a large part of the twelve to 17 year olds important places and spaces”.

He hopes that the rules will be improved, he says in an interview with

Regensburger Stadtjugendring: 2G regulation ensures "pandemic of mental illness"

2G has been in effect for extracurricular educational offers since November 24th.

Participation is only allowed for those who have been vaccinated or have recovered.

The regulation causes confusion in some places.

Unvaccinated adolescents are open to tutoring at school, but homework supervision in the youth center is not.

"It hits young people again who had already suffered severely from the restrictions of the pandemic in the past two years," says Seitz.

Experts see a "pandemic of mental illness" among children and adolescents.

In addition, there are currently too few vaccination options for young people who want to be vaccinated.

Many doctors mainly have the Moderna vaccine in stock.

However, it should only be given to people over 30.

In addition, some parents do not want their children to be vaccinated.

Restrictions for young people not justified - Jugendring writes Söder

Teenagers are tested at least three times a week in school.

“They have been tested significantly more thoroughly than the adults,” explains Seitz

The severe restrictions are therefore not justified.

Young people need safe places outside of school.

However, they could no longer visit them because of the 2G regulation.

The city youth council is not against comprehensible regulations with which the pandemic can actually be slowed down, says Seitz.

Together with his deputy Detlef Staude, he has therefore sent a fire letter to the Bavarian state government, Prime Minister Markus Söder '* (CSU) and his deputy Hubert Aiwanger (FW).

The topic could be on the table on Tuesday (December 14th).

In fact, Söder announced exemptions from the 2G rule for young people at a press conference.

Vaccination status of adolescents should not play a role

The President of the Bavarian Youth Ring, Matthias Fack, is annoyed about the “absurd de facto lockdown for twelve to 17 year olds”.

Minors should be able to participate in social life, regardless of their vaccination status.

Politicians have stressed several times that the needs of young people must be given special attention.

"These warm words have now been followed by actions that go in exactly the opposite direction." As far as the psychological consequences of the corona pandemic for children and young people are concerned, barriers to access for youth work are absolutely nonsensical. "
