Now it's official: the G7 summit will take place again in June 2022 at the Schlosshotel Elmau in Krün.

This was announced by Prime Minister Markus Söder at his press conference.

- Now it has also been officially confirmed by the highest level.

As already reported in the Garmisch-Partenkirchner Tagblatt, the G7 summit will be held from June 26th to 28th, 2022 in the Schlosshotel Elmau in Krün.

On these days, the federal government wants to host the summit there again - one is looking forward to “the whole world, which will then come to Bavaria,” said Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) on Tuesday in Munich.

In the coming year, after seven years, Germany will again take over the chairmanship of the G7 - this also includes France, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Canada and the USA.

At the G7 summit in 2015, then Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) welcomed the then US President Barack Obama to the luxury hotel in the mountains near Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Even in advance, those responsible apparently have problems finding beds for the thousands of officials and employees, some of whom have to arrive in the region weeks before the summit.
