In an exclusive interview with "Hong Kong 01", Li Jiaxin said that he has no political party baggage and hopes to use his industry experience to serve the community and bring female voices into the parliament.
Li Jiaxin is supported by the current Kowloon East Legislative Council Member Xie Weijun. She hopes to inherit the spirit and regional service of the other party and absorb the source of votes.
Regarding many establishment candidates advocated to enact legislation for Article 23 of the Basic Law as soon as possible, Li Ka-hin believes that although Article 23 legislation is Hong Kong’s constitutional responsibility, it is not in a hurry. Li Jiaxin, 32, has practiced in a Chinese medicine clinic for more than 4 years. At the beginning of 2019, she entered the political arena to run for district council elections. Li Kaxin decided to run for the Legislative Council election. One of the behind-the-scenes was Xie Weijun, who moved to the Election Committee sector.
She said that when Xie Weijun was thinking about whether to "turn the track" to the election committee, she encouraged her to stand for election. She said that Xie Weijun is very concerned about the younger generation and will use the other side as an example to run this election well, hoping to absorb the votes obtained by Xie Weijun in the last Legislative Council election.
As a registered Chinese medicine practitioner, Li Jiaxin focuses on the development of medical care in Hong Kong. She hopes to promote the popularization of Chinese medicine. Li Jiaxin pointed out that she is the only female candidate in Kowloon East, who can speak on behalf of women and help women take care of family, work and health.
She suggested that the government improve community childcare and childcare services, promote parental education, and provide flexible work arrangements so that parents can take care of their newborn children.
Li Kaxin’s opponents in Kowloon East, including the Democratic Alliance for Betterment of Hong Kong Yan Wenyu and the Federation of Trade Unions Tang Jiabiao, both have the support of traditional political parties. In contrast, will Li Kaxin’s election be more "lost"?
