We live in an apartheid state.

I am aware of the extremes of this statement and the instinctive resistance it evokes, but one must face reality with one’s eyes, acknowledge it and deal with it.

Sweeping the problem under the rug for so many years only fixes the situation, then degrades it a little more.

We live in a country where there is a public that is worth less, that deserves less. Who sacrifices more, much more, and who is silent and silent and silent. Not because he wants to, but because he understands that no one is listening. This is the settler community. He was left out of the fence and suffers daily from abandonment, and this is manifested in many ways. For example - the checkpoints. Many shout when they see Palestinian workers on their way to Little Israel standing at checkpoints for hours (why? Because an article in the main newscast occasionally does this). No one gets up and shouts the pain of the settlers, those who stand for hours in the traffic jams created by these checkpoints.

Let's really admit it and stop washing words: the checkpoint at the entrance to Israel is meant to check Palestinians. Why? Because some of them pose a security danger. The test itself is racist. Do you know why? Because there are Palestinians (one ethnic-cultural-national-religious affiliation) who stood up and decided to harm the Jews (another ethnic-cultural-national affiliation). That is - there is a war here, and like any war, it rests on differences: differences of religion, nationality, tribe, color. that's how it is. If they did not threaten us - there would be no barriers. If Arabs had not tried to murder Jews - there would have been no security problem. very simple. And no, it's not even a bit like what it was in Nazi Germany (and unfortunately there are those who compare), because there the Jews did not try to murder German children, and never declared Germany as the Jewish state.

We will return to the checkpoint: Settlers stand at the checkpoints for hours a day, because we need to check the Palestinian cars.

See that there are no weapons, wanted or infiltrators.

The settlers are suffering because of this.

And now the big deal: the checkpoint is designed to prevent terrorists from entering Little Israel.

That is, not only will the settlers be in a traffic jam, but the killers will remain on their side.

Because those who really need to be protected are the residents of Israel before 1967.

And the settlers?

As he said Shaham tried: to be burned.

Another example, particularly horrific and outrageous: an article by Amir Bohbot in Walla last week said that ambushes of IDF soldiers in Judea and Samaria would now take place only with the approval of the division commander, no less.

And not because something terrible happened or because the whole world imposed an embargo on us.

The motive for the change was shooting at stone throwers in an ambush last week.

These are not innocent young people caught in the line of fire, but potential killers.

And no, I'm not exaggerating.

Look into the eyes of those who have lost their loved ones, and tell them you are only asking for stones and that it is not really dangerous.

In an apartheid state such abandonment is possible, and it passes without the state burning, and without the issue opening new editions in which they interview the mother of Adele Bitton, the girl murdered by stone-throwing, or the widow of Asher Palmer and Jonathan's mother, who were also murdered in the same horrific way.

Because it's not interesting, it does not matter to anyone.

That is - to anyone who determines.

The abandonment of the settlers passes without the state burning, without the issue opening new editions in which they will interview Adele Bitton's mother, or Asher Palmer's widow and Yonatan's mother.

Were we wrong?

Fixed!
