Lebanese President Michel Aoun stressed the importance of brotherly relations between Lebanon and Syria, noting Syria's support for Lebanon.
During his meeting today with the delegation of the Qatari leadership of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party in Lebanon, headed by the Qatari Secretary, Ali Hijazi, Aoun referred to the "brotherly relations that combine Lebanon and Syria, which have always translated into the leadership and the people of Syria standing by Lebanon."
President Aoun noted the response shown by Syria in facilitating the process of importing gas and electricity to Lebanon through its territories from Jordan and Egypt, expressing his hope for the return of stability to the entire Syrian territory.
For his part, Hijazi pointed to the need to strengthen Lebanese-Syrian relations, stressing that this is in Lebanon's interest, pointing to Syria's positive initiatives towards Lebanon in all fields.
