People’s Assembly Speaker Hammouda Sabbagh affirmed that the people of the occupied Syrian Arab Golan were and still live up to the national responsibility entrusted to them in facing the practices of the usurping Zionist occupation entity through their adherence to their Arab identity and Syrian identity, rejecting the methods of carrot and stick that were imposed on them out of their confidence that the day of liberation will inevitably come. .
In a speech marking the forty-year anniversary of the ominous decision of the Zionist entity to annex the occupied Syrian Arab Golan during the council session held today, Sabbagh stressed that the struggle of the Syrian Arab people stems mainly from fulfilling its principles and principles, foremost of which is the restoration of the entire territory of the Golan and the liberation of prisoners and detainees from the prisons of the occupation.
Sabbagh pointed to the illegality of the aforementioned annexation decision, as the United Nations General Assembly met and issued by an overwhelming majority a resolution calling on the usurping entity to withdraw from all the occupied Arab lands, followed by another decision on the invalidity of the Zionist measures in the occupied Golan, especially the annexation decision. It mentioned UN Security Council Resolution No. 497, which demands Israel to cancel the annexation decision and consider it null and void and without any legal effect.
Sabbagh concluded his speech by paying homage to the souls of the martyrs of the Golan, the righteous martyrs of Syria, our people in the steadfast and patient Golan, and the men of the Syrian Arab Army, the fence of the homeland and its impregnable fortress under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad.
In their interventions, a number of members referred to the steadfastness of the people of the Golan in the face of the aggressive practices of the occupation entity against them, including destruction, displacement, assassinations and arbitrary arrest campaigns, which only increased their steadfastness, steadfastness, determination and insistence on their adherence to their land and their Syrian Arab identity, which ominous and unjust decisions against a people who believed in their land and homeland could not obliterate.
Some members pointed out that what Syria has been subjected to today in terms of a fierce terrorist war for more than ten years are nothing but desperate attempts by the usurping occupation entity to dissuade it from its main battle in liberating the land and to divert the Arab-Israeli conflict from its true course, stressing the continuation of struggle and resistance until the return of the Arab Golan Syrian with all its soil to the bosom of the motherland Syria.
