The Pentagon announced that the American soldiers who participated in a drone strike in Kabul at the end of August during the chaotic withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan, which killed 10 civilians, including seven children, will not be punished.
AFP quoted Pentagon spokesman John Kirby as saying: "There was no strong and sufficient evidence to assign personal responsibilities. What happened was a defect in the decision-making and implementation process and was not the result of negligence, error or bad leadership," according to his claim.
"The commission formed to investigate the incident did not recommend imposing individual sanctions," Kirby added.
The US forces launched the strike on the eve of their withdrawal from Afghanistan, which ended on August 30, after 20 years of US occupation of the country.
This is not the first or only strike carried out by the United States, which causes the death of civilians, as it launched dozens of such strikes in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries, causing thousands of innocent civilian victims, without any objective investigation or holding the military personnel responsible for these crimes.
