The commission investigating the deadly attack on the US Congress on Jan. 6 tonight (Tuesday) recommended that an indictment be filed against Trump's chief of staff, Mark Meduse, for contempt of Congress. In January, hundreds of Trump supporters passed the U.S. Guard, broke into the Capitol and cut short the confirmation of President Joe Biden's victory.
The seven Democrats and two Republicans on the House of Representatives committee have approved a report recommending a criminal charge against Medus, and as early as Tuesday the U.S. House of Representatives will be able to vote in favor of the decision. Also listed are Medus talks with members of Congress and organizers of a rally held on the morning of the riots. Between the screens, an email sent by Medus for the January 6 riots, in which he stated that the US National Guard "will protect pro-Trump people."
Mark was called several times to appear before the committee to give his statements, but he refused to do so.
He also delayed the transfer of many documents to the commission, claiming they were "secret" because of his work for former president, Donald Trump.

Meadows served as Trump's top aide at the time, and was with him in the White House when the rioters broke into the Capitol building. Therefore, his testimony is considered key evidence in the investigation of whether Trump was involved in the National Guard's response to the riots, which was delayed for hours as the violence escalated and the rioters beat the guards of the Capitol building.
The commission's recommendation to file an indictment came after more than two months of negotiations with Medus and his lawyer. In addition to Medus' lack of cooperation with the commission, it has also had to contend with obtaining information from some of Trump's other senior aides, such as Steve Bannon. The House of Representatives voted in favor of indicting Bannon in October, and the Justice Department accused him of two counts of contempt last month.
Mark Medoz was a member of the House of Representatives for more than seven years until he joined the Trump administration in 2020.
He sued the commission and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi following the recommendation to file an indictment against him.

Meadows' lawyer, George Trawilger, sent a letter Monday asking the commission to reconsider its plan to vote, arguing that it would be illegal for the panel to put the issue to a vote in the House of Representatives.
However, the committee chairman, members of Thomson, said: "He has no credible pretext to block the investigation of the investigating committee." Thompson said that about 300 witnesses testified, and investigators have received more than 30,000 drawings.
As stated, on Tuesday, the US House of Representatives Will be able to vote in favor of the decision.
