The Anti-Narcotics Branch in Damascus Governorate arrested 9 people on charges of promoting and using narcotic substances in Damascus and its countryside, and confiscated 5 kilograms of hashish in their possession.
The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement that SANA received a copy of today that, based on information received by the Anti-Narcotics Branch in Damascus about the delivery of a quantity of narcotic substances in Jisr Al-Zahira locality, the branch arrested five people and found in their possession 3 kilograms of hashish and 395 Captagon narcotic pill.
According to the ministry, the branch also arrested four people in the locality of Jaramana and found in their possession 2.2 kilograms of hashish and various types of pills.
The ministry confirmed the confiscation of all narcotic substances and the presentation of the arrested to the competent judiciary.
