Christmas wishes come true again: Many Moosburgers support gift campaigns for children

Despite Corona, Moosburg's willingness to donate was enormous: The Christmas tree campaign was also a great success this year.

- When you think of angels, you normally think of graceful, feminine figures.

But Moosburg likes to be different: In the Dreirosenstadt the angel is petite, but masculine.

He goes by the name Ferdinand Winterstötter and has been giving Christmas joy to children for 15 years, whose families are not so well off economically.

On Wednesday the initiator of the wishing tree thanked Sparkasse Moosburg for once again an outstanding willingness to donate.

In the past few weeks, Moosburg's citizens had the opportunity to take stars from the tree with wishes for presents and then buy the said presents for the children from socially disadvantaged families.

Ferdinand Winterstötter's Christmas workshop was a few meters away in the Vhs building, where the gifts were nicely wrapped so that the Christmas angel could deliver them personally.

Winterstötter gets the addresses from the families and their children up to the age of twelve through his close contact with schools and day-care centers.

With around 70 children's wishes fulfilled, the number of presents is around 20 less than in previous years because two institutions had not contacted the organizer of the campaign.

"Corona did not detract from the willingness to donate"

At the closing event, Winterstötter thanked Sparkasse Moosburg, which has been a partner of the campaign for many years and supports it with a lot of passion. Manuela Radlayers, Chairman of the Board of Management of Sparkasse Moosburg, proudly emphasized that many employees in her company would be committed to a good cause. This ranged from her assistant Nathalie Darmer, who worked closely with Ferdinand Winterstötter, to the counter staff who took gifts, to the trainees who traditionally decorate the tree.

Mayor Josef Dollinger thanked everyone involved and was happy about the continuation during this time: "Thank God Corona did not detract from this willingness to donate." and that's where the numbers of the past few years have been topped.

"We have a very good result," said Winterstötter, who with this money can help disadvantaged children all year round as a permanent Christmas angel.

Donations can still be transferred to this account in order to do good to Moosburg children.
