Euphoria on the one hand from Kreuz Nürnberg Süd and incomprehension on the other.
Interior minister has enforced a speed limit on one section of the A73, but not on the other.
Nürnberg / Feucht - First the good news for some of the residents on the A73: a new speed limit is coming - for the section between the intersection of Nürnberg Süd and Feucht.
On the approximately six-kilometer route, 100 km / h at night and 120 km / h during the day will still apply in December 2021.
For noise protection reasons.
And that, although the legal noise protection values are adhered to.
The speed limit was imposed by Bavaria's Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann (CSU) himself after a site visit with residents.
Before that there was no limit.

Nuremberg: Joachim Herrmann enforces the speed limit on the A73 - already applies in December 2021
The speed limit is legally possible despite adherence to the decibel limit because it runs for a limited time as a so-called "traffic attempt".
The road traffic regulations allow such an attempt for a limited time.
These traffic tests have become a popular way of quickly reassuring residents of Bavaria's government.
On the controversial new A94 between Erding and Altötting in Upper Bavaria, Markus Söder imposed a 120 limit - also as a traffic attempt.
But then Corona came, the traffic collapsed.
After the first lockdown, Herrmann wanted to extend the traffic attempt, a commuter complained and was right.
In the opinion of the court, the traffic attempt lacked any legal basis, as not even the actual noise exposure was measured over a longer period of time.
How secure are the legal feet on which the traffic attempt south of Nuremberg is now, will still be found out, should there be commuters willing to complain here too.
Incomprehension in the south of Nuremberg: the 6 km section on the A73 has no speed limit
Such an attempt is already underway further north on the A73 near Forchheim. Tempo 120 applies here. The section north of the Nürnberg Süd motorway junction remains unrestricted until the Nürnberg Hafen-Ost exit. There the motorway was only recently extended to three lanes in both directions, the noise barriers were raised and, as a result, all restrictions were lifted.
At the community association Siedlungen Süd, which is fighting for a speed limit, there is disbelief, as
reported by

currently.
Its chairman, Andreas Kippes, finds it particularly wrong that the limit-free section is penned in between a speed limit of 80 to the north and now a speed of 120 (100 at night) to the south.
The concern: Motorists would unnecessarily accelerate drastically on the section, which is also around six kilometers long without a speed limit, and thus cause significantly more noise than before.
But this concern remains unanswered by politicians for the time being.
