NRW: Hundreds of extras wanted for filming - large execution scene planned

More than 400 extras are being sought for a film shoot in North Rhine-Westphalia.
These are supposed to play people in the middle of the 18th century who take part in an execution.
Engelskirchen / Euskirchen - We are looking for more than 400 extras and small actors for a large execution scene for a film in North Rhine-Westphalia.
They should play villagers and spectators who attend a macabre spectacle in a historical setting, as the responsible casting agency of the
dpa
revealed.
The film is set in the 18th century.
"Executions back then were a kind of folk festival - full of bizarre exuberance, with jugglers, musicians and people dancing and celebrating," said agency director Gregor Weber.
The shooting takes place in Euskirchen and Lindlar (Oberbergischer Kreis)

The more than 400 wanted women and men should optically fit into the time.
"Natural, lived, expressive faces" are required, according to the agency.
Beards and longer hair are welcome in men, for example - applicants should let them grow out.
Piercings and tattoos on visible parts of the body, on the other hand, are not desired.
Neither were there any artificial tans - there weren't any sunbeds in the 18th century.
According to the information, the drama "The Devil's Bath" is being shot, which is based on real events.
Directed by the award-winning Austrian film duo Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala, who have a knack for artfully staged, eerie material.
Franz and Fiala also made the films “Ich seh ich seh” and “The Lodge”.
“Des Teufels Bad” is also supposed to be an art-house horror drama.

The open casting takes place online.
On the website www.casting-teufelsbad.de you can enter your data and upload photos.
The application deadline is January 16.
Before the shooting days there will be a costume and mask rehearsal in Engelskirchen.
Only applicants who have been vaccinated against the coronavirus or who have recovered can take part in the shoot.
Corona tests are also carried out.
People with disabilities are also invited, according to the agency.
People who lack body parts - such as teeth, arms or legs - would appear in the story as well as tall, short, fat and thin people, people with Down's syndrome, people with short stature, blind people or people with a squint.
For some roles, the cast is also looking for protagonists with very special skills.
"For certain parts we need men with skilled craftsmanship," explained Co-Agency Director Burkhard Eick.
