Where can i go?
Many winter vacationers ask themselves this question in view of the Corona situation.
Read here how the regulations of popular countries are.
In winter, holidaymakers are increasingly driven to the Alpine countries to spend an active skiing holiday * in nature.
Some, however, end up in sunnier climes due to the cold in Europe over the holidays.
You can find out which entry rules prevail in popular travel destinations here.
Austria vacation: These corona rules apply
Entry into Austria is possible under the
3G rule
.
That means travelers must provide proof of full vaccination, recovery or a negative corona test.
In the meantime, only one PCR test is permitted that was performed a maximum of 72 hours ago.
Vaccinated persons must also make sure that their certificate is still valid.
In Austria you need a booster no later than 270 days after the last vaccination in order to keep your vaccination status.
Electronic registration is not required when entering from Germany.
The
nationwide lockdown in Austria
was declared over on December 11th. Nevertheless, it is still valid until December 17th in the federal states of Upper Austria, Salzburg, Styria, Carinthia and Lower Austria. In Vienna they want to stay in lockdown until December 20th. In addition, travelers should note that Austria is currently a
high-risk
area - with the exception of the municipalities of Mittelberg and Jungholz and the Riss valley in the municipal area of Vomp and Eben am Achensee. When returning to Germany - with the exception of day tourists - a digital entry registration and 3G proof are required. Unvaccinated and non-recovered people have to go into a 10-day quarantine, which can be ended early with a second test on the fifth day.

Corona rules for vacation in Switzerland
Since December 4th, all travelers are
required to carry out
a
PCR test when entering Switzerland
.
The country of origin, the means of transport or the vaccination status are irrelevant.
The test cannot be older than 72 hours.
In addition, those affected must present another test between the fourth and seventh day after entry; both PCR and rapid tests are allowed.
A completed entry form (Passenger Locator Form) is also required.
However, there is an exception to the test and registration requirement for travelers from the regions of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg near the border
.
From the perspective of the federal government, Switzerland is a high-risk area - therefore stricter corona rules apply here when returning home.
Entry into Italy: What is currently valid
Italy recently tightened its entry regulations again. There is now a general test obligation for all travelers. This means that both those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered have to present a negative corona test. A PCR test that is no longer than 48 hours and a rapid antigen test that is no more than 24 hours ago are accepted. Unvaccinated persons also have to present a negative test upon entry and also have to go into quarantine for five days. A second negative corona test is then required to end the quarantine. Children under the age of six are exempt from the regulations. All
Covid certificates issued
by the
EU
are equivalent to the "Green Passport" in Italy. Apart from that, all travelers are required to fill out the online form.
