Rayan, 23, was sentenced for attempted murder last Tuesday by the Essonne Assize Court in Évry-Courcouronnes, to ten years' imprisonment.
A sentence accompanied by a socio-judicial follow-up of five years with obligation of care, when he leaves prison.
If this follow-up is not respected, the accused risks an additional three years in prison.
Three other young people were accused of complicity.
They were released.
On August 21, 2018, the victim was stabbed in Crosne 21 times and survived his injuries.
Otman was nonetheless absent at the trial.
The man committed suicide last May at the age of 41, while being detained in connection with a narcotics case.
Revenge against a background of drug trafficking
On August 21, 2018, Otman was hunted down and violently assaulted by four young people aged 18 and 20. The latter had stuck him on a construction site in the rue du Château-Gaillard in Crosne. Rayan then took out a knife and hit him in the stomach, thigh, back… A man had put an end to the assault and brought first aid to the victim, with the help of neighbors. Otman had been evacuated in absolute urgency to the Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital in Paris.
This attack was in fact revenge, against a backdrop of drug trafficking.
In July 2017, Otman kidnapped six of Rayan's friends and extorted them.
Otman was then looking for the latter who owed him, according to him, the sum of 1,000 euros.
That same evening, he had found Rayan, kidnapped him, kidnapped him and beat him.
These facts were also liable to the Assize Court but the death of Otman put an end to the proceedings.
