The Directorate of Education in Daraa put five schools affected by terrorism into service after completing the restoration and rehabilitation work.
The head of the school buildings department in the directorate, Engineer Radi Aloni, told SANA reporter that the restoration work was carried out in cooperation with international organizations working in Daraa, and that the schools were distributed in the neighborhoods of Daraa Al-Balad, Al-Sad Road and Nawa city.
And he indicated that the works of the Nawa Fifth School, a second cycle, included a complete restoration of the building with facilities and the construction of a fence, while the works of the Martyr Al-Kanakry School, a first cycle in Nawa, included structural support, cladding, implementation of health facilities and general maintenance, with funding from the reconstruction budget.
Al-Aloni explained that UNICEF supported the restoration of three schools in Daraa Al-Balad and Al-Sad Road through light structural maintenance of the Al-Arbaeen School and its complete covering and implementation of health facilities, gardens, courtyards and an external fence, while the works in Khawla School included structural support, implementation of a fence, maintenance of facilities and the establishment of a kindergarten. Medium structural support for the updated Al Sadd School, with maintenance of facilities, and preparation of the fence and playgrounds.
