The terrorist organization Hamas held a large military exercise today (Thursday) called "Magen Yerushalayim" in which its terrorists practiced raiding military bases, abducting soldiers and firing rockets.
At least three rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip westward toward the sea during the exercise.
The Hamas-affiliated news channel "Al-Rassallah" published a series of videos in which Hamas terrorists were seen practicing various activities, including the firing of machine guns and mortars and the abduction of an "IDF soldier."
"The exercise is intended to show our readiness and determination against the background of the continued violations of the Zionist occupation and the rights of the Palestinians in Gaza," he told al-Rassallah, a source in Hamas' military wing.
Simultaneously with the military exercise, the coordinator of government operations in the territories, Major General Rassan Aliyan, addressed Gaza residents today through his Facebook page in Arabic (Almonsk), following the indictment filed against a Gaza resident for committing serious security offenses.
"Hamas is selling you cheaply. Today it was revealed that Hamas paid Gaza resident Mahmoud Ahmad NIS 350 to use its trading permit for espionage and terrorist activities against Israel," Alian wrote.
"Gaza residents, know that Hamas is harming you and your well-being. If Hamas continues to jeopardize the civilian policy that allows Israel and the departure of thousands of Gazans to work in Israel, this will have consequences that will affect you and your family members who earn a decent living through these permits," the senior officer added.
