Her daughter, Magalie Méjean, disappeared in Martinique eight years ago to the day, on December 17, 2013. Her body will be found five weeks later: the 28-year-old Caennaise was killed.

For eight years, we have not known and we have been waiting for answers.
We think about it on a daily basis, we have to put up with it

On December 17, 2013, Magalie Méjean - an SNCF executive and volunteer firefighter - was on vacation in Martinique with a friend for a week.
That day, the two girlfriends go for a morning hike.
Sporty and enthusiastic by nature, Magalie wants to "
make
the most of" the island, which she is discovering for the first time.
She leaves for an afternoon hike from the village of Lorrain towards the north.
But she will never come back.
Panicked, her friend goes to the gendarmerie and then warns Magalie's parents.

Magalie was a framed person, we immediately understood that there was a big problem,
” explains Eric.
A possible rape before the murder
Magalie's body will finally be found on January 23, 2014 in a ravine in Chalvet in the Basse-Pointe sector. Her lower body is bare, without shorts or swimsuits, suggesting a rape before the murder. The body is very degraded due to the climate, and the autopsy unfortunately does not provide a clear explanation of what happened. Still, an investigation for intentional homicide was opened on March 26, 2014. Other questions, which haunt the family, remain unanswered to this day. On what precise date did Magalie die between her disappearance on December 17, 2013 and the discovery of her body on January 23, 2014? Was his body transported or had it been in this ravine from the start? "

Are there any leads in this folder? On December 31, 2015, an anonymous letter containing information on the disappearance of Magalie Méjean was left in the letterbox of the gendarmerie of Basse-Pointe. The justice has also recently received other anonymous information going in the same direction as this letter of 2015. In July 2015, an article of the 1st also spoke of witnesses saying to have seen Magalie Méjean, undoubtedly at the end of December 2013, abused by a man in a neighborhood street. "
