(CNN Spanish) -
José Antonio Kast has twice run for the presidency of Chile.
Kast is a lawyer, he is 55 years old, and from his first application he claimed to be the representative of the new right in the country.
Currently, his speech has been compared to other far-right presidents such as former US President Donald Trump and Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.
This is because of his opposition to equal marriage and the right to abortion, in contrast to his defense of a "traditional" version of the family.

The government plan of this candidate aims to strengthen order, the rule of law, private property and the free market economy.
Kast, who was a deputy for the Metropolitan region between 2002 and 2018, according to the bibliographic review of the National Congress of Chile, is not considered an extreme candidate.
However, in 2017 when he chose the presidency of Chile for the first time, Kast even said that if Pinochet were alive he would vote for him.
In the first round of the Chilean presidential elections, held on November 21, Kast obtained 27.91% of the votes, followed by Boric, with 25.83%.
None were close to the absolute majority required by the Constitution.
Therefore, they were selected for a second round to be held this Sunday, December 19.
