Health Minister Karl-Josef Laumann (CDU) is confident that the 2G regulation in the retail sector of North Rhine-Westphalia will hold up in court.
"My hope that we have written it down in such a way that it will stand up to the North Rhine-Westphalian supreme courts is great," said Laumann on Friday in Düsseldorf.
If you look at the history of all corona protection regulations in North Rhine-Westphalia, you can see that the state has not lost very many processes in essential points.
Düsseldorf - "Politically, I am of the opinion that it is right to make a distinction between vaccinated and non-vaccinated people when it comes to participation in social life," he emphasized.
Thanks to a relatively high vaccination rate, it was possible in NRW to keep the corona infection rate below the national average.
This means that the situation in the hospitals remains manageable.
When asked whether he had a plan B in the drawer in the event that the Higher Administrative Court in Münster overturned the 2G regulation in NRW retail, Laumann said: "Let's wait and see what the OVG in Münster says." Then you have to look at the reasons for the judgment and judge in its light what you can do.
Without giving the reasons for the judgment, considering a possible succession plan is not very expedient.

At the beginning of next week, the OVG NRW in Münster wants to decide an urgent procedure for the department store chain Woolworth, which is suing the 2G rule in NRW retail.
Shops with daily needs such as supermarkets, grocery stores and drug stores are excluded from the rule.
The OVG in Schleswig-Holstein had declared the rules for the state to be lawful on Tuesday after a Woolworth lawsuit.
In contrast, the Lower Saxony OVG has overturned the 2G rule in retail in the state.
The court decided on Thursday that the measure is not necessary to further contain the coronavirus and is not compatible with the general principle of equality.
