Living his life: Charles Berling is apart from Godard

At theater 14, the director of the Théâtre Liberté in Toulon faithfully adapts the film of the filmmaker to whom he pays an accomplice homage. A room where we read, sing and dance.


Jean-Luc Godard had undoubtedly thought of Living his life (1962) in the manner of a playwright.

It is one of his films which comes closest to classical tragedy.

Nana is a young woman in her twenties.

The first name Nana is a reference to Zola's novel, but also Anna's anagram.

Anna like Anna Karina who was the muse of the filmmaker.

Nana dreams of becoming an actress.

She left her child and Paul, her husband.
