After the Pierre-Charles Boudot affair, star jockey indicted for rape of an employee of the Chantilly (Oise) stables last May, and that of the Rossi family, a clan of trainers established in the Bouches-du- Rhône, four members of which were also indicted for "equine doping and organized gang fraud", a preliminary investigation was opened by the prosecution of Senlis (Oise) for acts of rape of a minor.
These would have been committed by a former renowned jockey who became a trainer in the prestigious France Galop center in Chantilly, as revealed by Thierry Vildary, journalist for “Stade 2” and “Tout le Sport”.
According to our information, it is David Cottin, 31 years old, triple Golden Cravache in obstacle who has accumulated success at the highest level before brilliantly reconverting himself as a trainer in 2017.

This investigation, opened on October 20 and entrusted to the Chantilly research brigade (BR), follows the complaint of a young underage woman who works in the equestrian world.
According to the account of the alleged victim, the acts were committed on October 16, during a drunken evening at the home of a friend of David Cottin, to whom the victim and the alleged perpetrator went after having left Insomniaque, a nightclub in Lamorlaye (Oise).

During this evening, coaches, jockeys and stable employee would have gone out in several discotheques in the region before ending up at the home of a jockey, friend of David Cottin. The circumstances in which the facts of the rapes denounced have yet to be clarified. David Cottin, native of Angers (Maine-et-Loire) and son of Philippe, ex-trainer, has not yet been questioned by the gendarmes. The young girl - who would work in Fabrice Vermeulen's stable in Chantilly - has already been the victim of sexual violence in the past.
