How high is the vaccination rate in Germany?

RKI boss Wieler is said to have accused resident doctors of improper documentation of the vaccinations.

The answer followed promptly.

Berlin - Infection numbers, Covid-19 deaths, incidences: Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, key figures like these have been in a special focus.

With the approval of vaccines related to Biontech, Moderna and Co., the vaccination quota in Germany also plays an immense role.

It is not uncommon for delays to occur.

The report of the administered corona vaccinations now caused a dispute between the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KBV) and the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).

That comes from a report from

.

Dispute between KBV and RKI: Too low a vaccination rate due to insufficient documentation?

In a letter to the Federal Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach (SPD), the KBV rejects allegations that the vaccination rate may be too low due to insufficient documentation by the resident doctors. While vaccination centers, hospitals and mobile vaccination teams transmit their data to the RKI with a special application called "digital vaccination monitoring", doctors in private practice do not use them.

According to information from the RKI, the health insurance doctors send their vaccination data to the KBV every day, while the private doctors use another platform.

The data from both portals are "accessed daily by the RKI", according to the institute's website.

As the

Business Insider

report shows

, RKI boss Lothar Wieler had accused the resident doctors of not properly documenting the vaccinations.

A similar situation had already arisen in the summer of 2021.

At that time, the RKI had to admit that the vaccination quota nationwide might be higher than expected.

RKI boss Wieler then blamed the company doctors.

"The planned data interface has not yet been implemented": KBV clearly rejects criticism from RKI

The National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians rejected the latest criticism from the RKI and shot back. "The fact that the RKI may have missing or incomplete data on the (...) vaccinations is due to the fact that the RKI cannot receive this data because it has not yet implemented the data interface provided for this," the quoted said

from the letter to Lauterbach. Furthermore, the KBV explained in the letter that resident doctors would even document the corona vaccinations carried out in two ways.

It remains to be seen whether Lothar Wieler will respond to the allegations of neglect.

For the time being, Wieler will inform Karl Lauterbach about the current corona situation in Germany on Thursday.
