Is the big animal that is roaming about actually a wolf?

The authorities have a clear tendency

Bergen / Chiemgau - A wolf is said to have been sighted in the Upper Bavarian municipality of Bergen.

A video is circulating on Facebook that shows an animal sneaking past a fashion store on Sonnleitnerstrasse near Bahnhofstrasse in Bergen.

The local association CSU Siegsdorf is sure that it is a wolf.

Wolf spotted in the middle of the village: Video shows the animal's nightly visit

“A current video shows: A wolf walks in the evening in the center of our neighboring town of Bergen im Chiemgau.

The Siegsdorf CSU is very (!!) concerned about the safety of people and livestock and therefore expressly supports the demand / approach of our District Administrator Sigi Walch regarding the unfortunately urgently needed removal / shooting of such wolves ”, it says in a post to the video.

Comments from people who also see the animal as a danger to the Traunstein district and support the shooting are collected under the Facebook video.

But there are also contributions that question the authenticity of the video material.

The Bavarian State Office for the Environment (LfU) has already expressed a tendency: “After first inspection” the video recorded in Bergen actually shows a wolf.

This was reported by the

Süddeutsche Zeitung

and the

Bayerisches Landwirtschaftliche Wochenblatt

.

Spotted in the middle of mountains after goat attack Wolf

Besides, it wouldn't be the first time a wolf has appeared in mountains.

On Wednesday evening (December 15) a wolf is said to have attacked a goat.

As the LfU explains in a press release, “according to the initial documentation, a wolf is likely to be the culprit.” Genetic samples would be checked in a laboratory and could confirm whether it was actually a wolf.

Traunstein District Administrator Siegfried Walch (CSU) had already shown a clear edge on the subject of wolf in November.

He wants to release the animal for shooting.

Five sheep were killed in the area in October.

The LfU confirmed at the time that all five animals fell victim to a wolf.
