A new study by the University of Washington in the United States and the Swiss pharmaceutical company Humabs Biomed SA. Biotechnology found that preliminary evidence showed that two doses of the US Johnson & Johnson vaccine, Russia’s “Sputnik V” (Sputnik V), and China’s Sinopharm vaccine are effective against Omicron. The mutant strain has almost no protective effect. In addition, two doses of Pfizer vaccine for people who have been infected can maximize the effect of the antibody.
"Bloomberg" reported on December 17 that the study analyzed the effects of 6 vaccines on Omicron variants. Among 12 people who had been vaccinated with Johnson & Johnson, only 1 produced neutralizing antibodies that are effective against Omicron. Three of the 13 people produced effective neutralizing antibodies, and none of the 11 people vaccinated with the Sputnik-V vaccine produced effective antibodies.

The study found that after 2 doses of Pfizer vaccines in a perfectly healthy person, the antibodies of the Omicron variant strain will be reduced by 44 times, but if people who have been infected with 2 doses of Pfizer vaccine, the antibodies of the Omicron variant strain will only be reduced by 5 times.
However, the report also mentioned that this study has not been reviewed by peers, and the research content only focuses on the changes in neutralizing antibodies, but neutralizing antibodies are only part of the immune response. At present, another protective T cell is still under study. .
