Aleppo, SANA- To celebrate the International Day of the Arabic Language, which falls today, the Directorate of Education in Aleppo made a presentation today

In celebration of the International Day of the Arabic Language, which falls today, the Directorate of Education in Aleppo presented today a theatrical performance entitled (Souk Okaz).

The presentation presented by first-year secondary school students from Abdel Qader Allamo Mixed School for Outstanding Students and Jarir Lighting included poetry competitions that were held from the pre-Islamic era to the modern era and introduced our poets and their poems and stanzas.

Ibrahim Masso, Director of Education in Aleppo, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the play aims to introduce students to the importance of the Arabic language and stress the need to preserve its nationalism and authenticity, pointing to the directorate’s keenness to hold events to celebrate it and allocate lessons to enhance students’ love for it and empower them.

Alia Khalouf, the specialist facilitator of the Arabic language, indicated that the play embodied the saying that Arabic is like a sea, its giving is inexhaustible to urge students to pay attention to it because it is the identity and personality of the Arab nation.

Zina Serjieh, the Arabic language teacher at Abdel Qader Allamo High School, pointed out the importance of instilling and introducing students to Arabic poetry and its most important figures throughout the ages.

Ghinwa Haidari, director of the theatrical performance, pointed out that the work includes talking about the stages of development, creativity and transmission of Arabic through the ages, emphasizing that it is the remaining mother tongue and our duty to preserve it.
