The elements of the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Damascus seized three slaughterhouses for broilers for violating water-soaking and selling at excessive prices and a number of economic and commercial activities in Al-Hal Market for not circulating invoices.
During his tour of the market in Damascus, the Director of Consumer Protection at the Ministry of Internal Trade, Hussam Al-Nasrallah, told SANA that since this morning, consumer protection agencies in all governorates have intensified their field inspection tours on markets and all commercial activities to verify the commitment of all owners of commercial mediation rings to the specified prices. Duly and not to raise them for any reason, to ensure that bills are circulated between these episodes, and prices are announced clearly to citizens, and not to monopolize goods in order to raise their prices.
For his part, the Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Damascus, Muhammad Bassam Ibrahim, explained that the directorate’s personnel, while carrying out their duties, seized three slaughterhouses for broilers soaking broilers in water with the aim of gaining weight and making illegal gains. According to Ibrahim, a number of economic and commercial activities were seized in Al-Hal Market in Damascus for not circulating invoices, indicating that dealing with violators is carried out in accordance with the provisions of Legislative Decree No. 8 of 2021 and referring violators to the judiciary is present.
Ibrahim called on the people to cooperate with the directorate’s elements to control violations and the markets, stressing that they are present in the markets at all times around the clock, in addition to the fact that the directorate continues to receive citizens’ complaints on the designated number 119 and its social networking sites.
