Tehran: The European Troika must show seriousness in the Vienna talks

Iran renewed its call on the three European countries that are members of the "four plus one" group to show seriousness and determination to advance talks on the Iranian nuclear file, instead of insisting on accusations and a futile and absurd blame game.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzad described the statements of the diplomats of the European Troika, members of the “Four Plus One” group, about the deadline for the return of the delegations participating in this round of talks, as “far from reality and fabricated,” and said: Contrary to the claim of the Western parties that Iran demands a halt Talks, these same countries, as well as the rest of the other members of the "four plus one" group, are fully aware that this deadline was the result of a collective understanding, and of course the holiday of the European parties on the occasion of Christmas and New Year was taken into account.

Khatibzadeh pointed out that this is not the first time that the West resorted to distorting the truth and leaking false information, arguing that these three countries might try with these unrealistic allegations to compensate for their request in the previous round to return to their capitals early.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian called on the Western countries participating in the Vienna talks on reviving the nuclear agreement yesterday to act on the basis of logic and good faith, criticizing their lack of initiative.
