The Criminal Security Branch in Lattakia arrested a monopoly on diesel, who were promoting it through a Facebook page on social networking sites for sale on the black market.
The Ministry of Interior indicated in a statement that SANA received a copy of today that, based on information about the existence of a Facebook page offering 600 liters of diesel for sale on the black market at a price of two million Syrian pounds, the necessary ambush was set up and the members of the network, which consisted of seven people, were lured by the Criminal Security Branch in Latakia and arrested. They have in their possession a car with a tank containing the aforementioned quantity.
In its statement, the ministry indicated that the car was seized and the diesel oil was confiscated and handed over to the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, in addition to the seizure of a public car, a microbus, an integration card cutter, and a calibration card book. At a price of three thousand per liter sold to the citizen and promote their work on the Facebook page.
The ministry pointed out that investigations are still underway to reveal the rest of the partners, and they will be duly brought to court.
