The Syrian Scientific Informatics Society has announced a new work mechanism for granting the International Computer Driving License (ICDL) certificate, starting next year.
In a statement to SANA, the director of the ICDL project, Dr. Muhammad Ahmed, explained that the association is keen to keep pace with global information developments and meet the renewed needs of trainees through a new mechanism for granting the ICDL certificate, starting next year, by adopting seven programs to obtain it, four of which are essential. They are (Internet - Excel - Windows - Word) and three new optional programs made available by the project to the trainee in a way that suits the nature of his work and his needs to reach advanced levels in the field he seeks to invest in the labor market at the local and global levels.
Among the electives are information security, online sharing, presentations, databases, computing, robotics, and information literacy, as well as advanced programs including advanced word processing, advanced spreadsheets, advanced presentations, advanced databases, and specialized programs including digital marketing, electronic financial spreadsheets, data analysis, project management, and image processing and editing. Ahmed indicated that exams are currently being conducted for each of the certificate of data analysis directed to decision makers in companies and institutions and the makers of financial and marketing policy for these companies that benefit economics graduates and computer majors, and the certificate of electronic financial spreadsheets for accountants that works to develop the advanced skills necessary to produce advanced reports using the application of electronic spreadsheets (Excel) and preparing the companies' budget for previous years and identifying the strengths and weaknesses in the company that benefit accountants and financial auditors in addition to accounting graduates.
