SC Freiburg surprisingly ends the year 2021 in third place in the Bundesliga.

The Breisgauer won 2: 1 (1: 1) against Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday and now have 29 points, the Leverkusen follow in fourth place with 28 points.

Vincenzo Grifo put the sports club in the lead with a converted penalty in the 33rd minute.

Freiburg - Charles Aránguiz equalized shortly before the break (45th + 1).

Kevin Schade scored the winning goal for Freiburg in the 84th minute.
