Francesco Friedrich said goodbye to the year with a World Cup double.
The double Olympic champion from BSC Oberbärenburg won the four-man bobsleigh race in Altenberg on Sunday after winning in the small sled the day before.
With his crew Thorsten Margis, Martin Grothkopp and Alexander Schüller, he relegated Canadian Justin Kripps to second with 0.28 seconds.
Altenberg - Third place went to Russian Rostislaw Gaitjukewitsch.
Christoph Hafer from BC Bad Feilnbach came in ninth after second place in the two-man bobsleigh this time.
Johannes Lochner from Berchtesgaden, who started for Stuttgart, had to be satisfied with 21st place.
After he was only able to start with half his strength in the two-man bobsleigh after problems with his thighs and also put down a miserable run, his team failed in the premier class.
After the start, the push bars did not fold in.
With it, Lochner raced down the demanding track with fully unfolded bars and only prevented a nasty fall with a lot of luck.
In 21st place, he also missed qualifying for the second round.
