The Legislative Council election held today (19th) has been going on for nearly 10 hours, and the voter turnout rate as of 5:30 pm was 23.12%.
The candidate of the West New Democrat Party on Hong Kong Island, Ye Liu Shuyi, was in a hurry at about 6:30 in the evening, saying that he took free transportation to make voters go out and did not return home to vote, and called for voting as soon as possible.
Means that many supporters in the region are not there
Ip Liu Shuyi said that many citizens did not vote because of the free rides today. When she went to Tung Chung to canvass votes, she found that the tourists were full and many did not vote. She hoped that the citizens would vote as soon as possible after the outing.
Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor pointed out earlier that transportation companies "voluntarily provide" free rides in support of the election.
Asked whether Ip Liu Shuyi's statement refers to the low turnout rate, she did not respond positively. She only pointed out that the bus was full in Tung Chung, and there were a lot of people in the store, and many citizens did not vote; she went to an area she was familiar with, and there was a lot of support None of them are there.
She emphasized that there were not enough votes and the situation was grim, and she urged voters to vote at 10:30 in the evening.

Asked how to assess the current voter turnout rate, Mrs. Yip again emphasized that the public "the weather is good, go out to get a ride", and pointed out that this year's voter turnout rate is difficult to compare with previous years. Because of the epidemic, most people in foreign countries and mainland China were unable to return to Hong Kong to vote.
As for whether the low number of votes will result in low representativeness, she pointed out that the number of votes received in 2012 was the last second among many members. As long as they return to the parliament, they will not worry about this aspect.
