The Republican candidate, Valérie Pécresse, proposes to postpone the start of the school year by a week.
An “intelligent” proposal, according to the doctor and LR mayor of Garenne-Colombes, Philippe Juvin.
This Sunday, the Minister of National Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, however, specifies on the set of BFMTV that this is "
not the preferred hypothesis
" for the moment.

The Minister considers that “
school is not an adjustment variable, it is essential for our children, and it is the last thing to close
”.
On the possible postponement of the date of the start of the school year (scheduled for January 3), "
the assumptions are still on the table
", specifies Jean-Michel Blanquer, however, but the delay of the start of the school year is only considered as a "
last resort.
".
The minister also announced that a total of 2,875 classes are currently closed, due to students who tested positive.
This represents about 0.5% of primary classes.

Jean-Michel Blanquer also justifies the government's desire to transform the health pass into a vaccination pass, by considering that it is "
normal to put pressure on unvaccinated people
", and recalling at the same time that "
if all the world was vaccinated, we would not be there
”.
The minister also specifies that "
parents can go in a reassured manner towards the vaccination of children
", because "
all opinions are positive
", and "
international experiences are rather convincing
".
