1. The adoption of European tech regulation
2022 should see the final adoption of two major European regulations to regulate digital platforms: the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the Digital Markets Act (DMA).
The first aims to impose new obligations on them with regard to illegal content (counterfeit products, child pornography, terrorism, remarks prohibited by law, etc.);
the second intends to crack down on the anti-competitive practices of the big players in tech.
Together, these two texts will lead to a major redefinition of the rules that govern the digital space.
A first in twenty years.

The European institutions have worked at high speed to get the texts presented by the Commission barely over a year ago adopted as quickly as possible.
MEPs validated their version of the DMA in December, and will vote in January on their vision of the DSA.
From there the final negotiations between the Commission, the Council and the Parliament will begin in order to reach a consensus.
