The two brothers, Abdel-Fattah and Ahmed Gohar, succeeded in establishing their small business for the manufacture of ready-made clothes by opening a sewing workshop in Lattakia after war conditions forced them to close their workshop in Aleppo.
In his interview with SANA’s reporter, Abdel-Fattah spoke about his love for the sewing profession, which he pursued since his childhood with his family, and said: “Because of the war conditions, we were forced to close our workshop in the city of Aleppo and we started our project in Latakia with five machines we brought from Aleppo, and after the production wheel turned, the workshop started producing women’s, men’s and children’s pajamas, where We were able to increase the number of sewing machines, and the operator is currently supporting 5 families.”
He added: As for the types of fabric that we use in winter, they include “tuffless and cotton fleece” in addition to types of light fabrics, and in summer we use “chiffon, national cotton youth, poplin and lycra beans,” pointing out that their products reached the markets of Damascus and Hama.
At the conclusion of his speech, Abdel-Fattah hoped that he would be able to expand his workshop and increase production and marketing to serve this industry, which constitutes an important economic artery in Syria.
The worker in the workshop, Zakaria, spoke about the difficulties of working at the present time, especially in light of the high prices, stressing his adherence to the sewing industry despite all circumstances, while Wafaa “Mother of 5 Children” confirms that she is having a good time because she loves this profession and finds through it an opportunity to support her family.
