The "Carmel" storm is spreading in Israel and in recent hours has intensified in the center of the country.

Heavy rain began to fall on the coastal plain and there is a fear of flooding.

In the south there is high to very high air pollution.

Strong winds were felt across the country.

The weather is expected to remain similar throughout the week.



At Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva, doctors continue to fight for the life of the 49-year-old man who was injured in a tree collapse in Netanya.

His condition is defined as severe and unstable.

"After an initial stabilization in the emergency room, he was transferred to our general intensive care unit. He is currently in a serious condition, he has a very serious head injury. He is being resuscitated and anesthetized and his life is in danger. The next few days are critical for him," Ilya Kagan.

The storm is expected to intensify gradually throughout the day.
