Tatjana Pokorny has wanted to create an offer for children for a long time.

With "Sisik, the seasick Viking", the junior director of the small theater has found the perfect material.

Author Andreas Glas wants to slip into the title role himself as soon as the Corona requirements allow rehearsals to start.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen

- He has a problem. A huge one. One that actually prevents him from following his destiny. Sisik suffers massively from seasickness - the English translation seasick served as the inspiration for the name. A real dilemma for a Viking. Andreas Glas wrote a children's book based on this material. Although, at first he only wanted to prepare the story for the theater. While writing, the father of two daughters remembered how boring he found many of the works on the market. So the Garmisch-Partenkirchner looked for an illustrator - and found her in Anna Hofherr -, hired his brother, who has an advertising agency, and had the book printed for 4- to 99-year-olds at their own expense.

The idea to bring "Sisik, the seasick Viking, and the stupid two-horn" on stage, of course, still exists.

And will also be implemented as soon as the Corona requirements allow.

"It must be foreseeable that school classes and kindergarten groups will be able to come," says Tatjana Pokorny, junior director of the small theater.

Under the current general conditions - 2G-plus proof of all visitors and only 25 percent occupancy in the hall - that would not work.

Nonetheless, the ensemble on Richard-Strauss-Platz continues: “In times like these, the lights of the theater have to shine all the brighter.” However, under these conditions she does not tackle new projects.

Tied up by Sisik, the seasick Viking

We have been in contact with glass for years. “Ladies Night”, the two football comedies, “Broken Neck and Legs”, the comedy for the Ski World Cup, and Kaspar from Brandner are just a few of the joint projects. “We have really done quite a bit together,” confirms Glas, who has also written his own cabaret programs. When he told Pokorny about his idea, it was immediately hooked. Especially since she has long been thinking of offering more for children. Sisik's story was immediately captivating: "It is sweetly written and by a local artist," says the mother of two daughters.

She and Glas already have an idea of how the adventures of the seasick Viking are brought to the Little Theater.

Five to seven actors are on stage, including some children.

"There is great interest," emphasizes the author.

After a reading in a school, a number of boys and girls asked him where they could report.

But there will only be a kind of casting if it is foreseeable that rehearsals can begin soon.

What is certain is that glass slips into the role of sisik.

“I almost look like a Viking,” he says and laughs.

The costumes and the set are sure to be elaborate.

The Garmisch-Partenkirchner has already given some initial thought to how the ship can be tinkered with.

In the Small Theater there are beautiful projects on hold

“We're on hold,” regrets Pokorny.

She is alluding to this piece and also to the "One Man Show" by and about the legendary Winnetou actor Pierre Brice.

“At least they are nice projects that we have to wait for.

That gives hope. "

If you want to get a foretaste of the story, you can buy the book for 19.90 euros in the Adam and Gräfe & Unzer bookstores in the market town.

Incidentally, these are part of everyday needs and are therefore not subject to the 2G rule for retailers.
