(ANSA) - ROME, DECEMBER 20 - "Azerbaijan is Italy's leading supplier of oil and gas. When there is a shortage of gas in Europe, the centrality of this country is strong, it is a strategic partner".
This was stated by the Italian ambassador to Azerbaijan Claudio Taffuri to ANSA, on the sidelines of the XIV Conference of Ambassadors and Ambassadors of Italy in the world.
"The summit in Brussels of the Eastern Partnership has for the first time confronted Armenia and Azerbaijan, - explained the diplomat - with the aim of normalizing relations. In this sense, Azerbaijan is a very important hub, a kind of pillar between East and West".
