72-year-old drives in oncoming traffic: frontal accident claims four injured

A serious head-on collision occurred on Monday afternoon on the B 15 between Taufkirchen and Dorfen.
Three vehicles had collided, and a total of four occupants suffered some serious injuries.
The damage is in the five-digit range.
Taufkirchen - According to the first findings of the Dorfen police, a 72-year-old was driving his BMW X3 with Erdinger license plates in the direction of Dorfen when, at around 3 p.m., shortly after leaving Taufkirchen, the cause was still unknown.
There he collided at high speed with a VW van, also from the Erding district, which was heading towards Taufkirchen.

Behind him was a BMW Mini from the Freyung-Grafenau district.
Its driver could not brake in time and drove into the VW.
A total of four people were injured, the two occupants in the VW were seriously injured and the driver of the Mini was slightly injured.
The person responsible suffered such severe injuries that he had to be transported away with a rescue helicopter from the German Air Rescue Service.
The control center in Erding called for four ambulances and an emergency doctor.
The injured were taken to nearby clinics.
The Taufkirchen fire brigade supported the rescue and helped free a trapped person.
In addition, she rerouted the traffic.
The federal highway was completely closed until the evening to record the accident.
