Various cultural activities included in the celebration of the International Day of the Arabic Language, which was hosted by the Faculty of Law in the city of Al-Hasakah.

The celebration, which was organized by the Safsaf Al-Khabour Cultural Association in cooperation with the branch of the Arab Writers Union and the Euphrates University branch, over two days included the establishment of a book fair at the Faculty of Law that included more than 600 titles in various categories of literature, history, story, novel and literary studies, in addition to dictionaries and linguistic dictionaries and selling them to attendees at nominal prices.

The Baraem Al-Safsaf Troupe also presented a number of songs and poetic poems that glorify the language of Dhad and highlight its advantages and aesthetics, its civil and scientific role, and the need to pay attention to it.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Safsaf Al-Khabour Association, Ahmed Al-Hussein, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that this celebration is an expression of our love and affection for our language as a sign of our national identity and our human heritage, its global spread, and its creative features and characteristics that constituted an incentive for the production and dissemination of knowledge throughout history.

A number of students of the faculties of law and literature, including Nahla Al-Jasser and Sulaf Al-Hussein, stressed the importance of holding various book fairs and their role in providing books at symbolic prices for university faculties students in light of the high prices in private libraries and the importance of titles that were presented in the exhibition, which dealt with various types of literature.

Dr. Qahtan Al-Falah, Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, gave a lecture in which he spoke about the advantages of Arabic, its scientific and civilized role throughout the ages, and the challenges it faces, while the lecture delivered by researcher Alaa El-Din Hassan, entitled “The Arabic Language, Influence and Influence,” dealt with the phenomenon of acculturation in the language of Dhad with other languages. It acquired meanings and terms from it and in turn quoted similar vocabulary, which reflects its diversity.
