(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 20 - "Fully exploiting the potential of Italian soft power abroad, to advance our interests, our values, our model": this is the goal of the new Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy at the Farnesina , which from January 1st will be led by Ambassador Pasquale Terracciano.

Among the priorities of the organism, Terracciano explained to ANSA, on the sidelines of the Conference of Ambassadors and Ambassadors, there will be "the relaunch of cultural promotion, because we are a superpower, and therefore make a more active communication, strengthen the institutional one, exploit the new media , make a preventive diplomacy with ready-made scenarios for the chessmen most important to us ".

Another challenge will be to make the Italian presence in international organizations more "structured, for which we will ensure the candidacies".

And then again, "increase the network of cultural institutes abroad, make better use of the synergies between culture, promotion of Made in Italy and tourism, increase the number of Italian schools".

Terracciano for this purpose, has in mind "a day of Italian education abroad".

And then again, we must "enhance the Unesco presidency, because we are the first country for sites in the world", added the ambassador, who wants to promote a day dedicated to these sites.
