The counting of votes for the Legislative Council elections ended today (20th). Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said when attending the event that in order to reflect the importance of mainland enterprises in Hong Kong’s economy, a new functional constituency was added to the business sector (third) through a sound election system. In the Legislative Council, another 17 subsector seats on the Election Committee have been added. It is believed that members representing the business sector (third) will become a bridge between mainland enterprises in Hong Kong and the SAR government, promoting cooperation with the government and promoting Hong Kong’s economic development.
Lam Cheng also raised several expectations for the China Enterprise Association and mainland enterprises, including the hope that mainland enterprises in Hong Kong will continue to actively assist Hong Kong in integrating into the overall development of the country, and hope that they will further support the development of Hong Kong society, and help the SAR government to improve the living standards of the people through private forces. Help enhance the centripetal force of Hong Kong youth towards the country, and tell the story of Hong Kong to the mainland compatriots.

Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor attended the 30th anniversary celebration of the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association today. She mentioned the first general election of the Legislative Council after the improvement of the electoral system. The new 90 members of the Legislative Council were elected. The new weather has also expanded the representativeness of the Legislative Council.
She specifically mentioned that MPs representing the business sector (third) will serve as a bridge between Hong Kong's mainland enterprises and the government.
Lam Cheng said that in the past, I felt that the China Enterprise Association and individual mainland enterprises in Hong Kong attach great importance to the development of Hong Kong's society and are willing to contribute more to the construction of Hong Kong. Then he put forward several expectations.
First, she mentioned that under the National Fourteenth Five-Year Plan, Hong Kong must grasp the general trend of the country's dual-cycle development pattern, actively participate in the construction of the Greater Bay Area and the "Belt and Road", and strengthen cooperation with more provinces and cities in the Mainland.
She encouraged mainland companies to make more use of the services provided by Hong Kong companies, and act as "facilitators" and "promoters" for Hong Kong companies developing in the mainland to help them integrate into the overall development of the country.

Call on mainland enterprises to provide mainland internships for more young people
In terms of social development, Carrie Lam hopes that mainland enterprises in Hong Kong can further support the development of Hong Kong society, from housing to culture and sports, to alleviating the poor and the weak, and assisting the SAR government to improve the standard of living of the citizens.
Carrie Lam also hopes that mainland companies in Hong Kong can help enhance Hong Kong youth’s commitment to the country. He mentioned that many mainland companies participated in the "Greater Bay Area Youth Employment Program" announced in last year’s Policy Address, hiring Hong Kong graduates to cities in the Greater Bay Area. Work, to provide young people with valuable experience in living and working in the Mainland, and I hope that in the future, we can continue to provide more of these opportunities.
Lam Cheng also mentioned that he hopes that companies in Hong Kong can tell the story of Hong Kong well.
