INTERVIEW - François Asselin, president of the Confederation of SMEs, believes that everything must be done to fight against the spread of the virus in business, but not at any cost.

- Has the extension of the health pass in the workplace been implemented?

François ASSELIN.

The meeting this Monday morning with Élisabeth Borne served to gather our position on the means to fight effectively against the propagation of the Omicron variant and we understood that nothing had been decided.

And the answers given to the Minister on the generalization of the health pass in companies, to convince the some 2 million workers who are not yet vaccinated, were rather reserved, even hostile.

What is the position of CPME?

We must do everything to fight against the spread of the virus, but not at any cost.

Extending the health pass would be complicated to implement and that would raise the question of the responsibility of the business manager, today punishable by a prison sentence of one year in prison and a fine of 45,000 euros for failing to not ensure the safety of its employees.

It is not for the company to replace the responsibility of the State
