According to the Legislative Council (Election Deposits and Signatories Required for Nominations) Regulations, candidates for local direct elections are required to pay an election deposit of $50,000. If the candidate fails to obtain 3% of the valid votes in the election , The deposit will be confiscated and transferred to the government’s general revenue. In other words, the deposits of 4 people will make a total of 200,000 yuan in the warehouse.
