The farmers of Al-Hasakah Governorate continue to cultivate their lands with rain-fed and irrigated wheat and barley, to increase the cultivated area to date on 314 thousand hectares distributed in various areas of agricultural stability.

The Director of Agriculture in Al-Hasakah, Eng. Saeed Al-Jajji, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the area planted with irrigated wheat reached 64 thousand and 150 hectares, with 58 percent of the planned areas, and rain-fed wheat 127 thousand and 750 hectares, at a rate of 29 percent, while the areas planted with irrigated barley amounted to 8950 hectares, with a percentage of Implementation of 43 percent and rainfed barley 114 thousand hectares, with an implementation rate of 28 percent.

Al-Jajji pointed out that the rate of implementation and cultivation of wheat and barley crops in the governorate for the current season is linked to an improvement in the reality of rain in the coming period, especially since the majority of the area planned for cultivation is rainfed, explaining that the governorate has been exposed to a rainy depression since last night and its effectiveness continues today. and 1 mm in different regions.

It is noteworthy that the cultivation of wheat and barley crops in Al-Hasakah Governorate, which began in mid-October, usually continues until the middle of next month.
